Deafblind Awareness

I can design and deliver disability training to meet your specific needs, aims and objectives.  I use a range of methods to engage participants and provide evaluation of the impact and outcomes of any package. I am an experienced trainer in deafblindness, multiple disabilities and other rare conditions. I have worked with family groups, school teams, project teams, therapists, and school and service leaders.

I can provide training about:

• Early communication development and assessment

• Communication approaches and strategies for non-speaking or emergent language users

• Tactile communication including signing, objects or symbols

• Getting the best out of mealtimes with a focus on sensory loss

• Deafblind awareness

• Supporting communication for sensory impairment

• Adapting sign language and supporting communication deafblindness

• Storytelling and personal narrative approaches

I also collaborate with colleagues to provide recognised courses, together we provide:

• Accredited Intervenor training

• The National Sensory Impairment Partnership Regional Centre of Expertise for MSI
